MARIAN PRICE RELEASED

We have received word that Marian Price has been released from imprisonment in Antrim barracks.

While we welcome this good news; the Irish Freedom Committee condemns the heavy-handed security forces harassment, thuggish house ransacking, and sabotage of the safety of Marian and her family by media footage describing the location of her home.

Her prompt release has avoided the security forces a massive protest; and has averted the profound embarrassment of Sinn Fein, who are spared the obliging of Gerry Kelly to comment on and support the PSNI arrest of his former co-accused.

Welcome home Marian.

MARIAN PRICE ARRESTED

At 7 AM this morning Marian Price’s house was raided by several dozen PSNI and several suits removing many items from her home, including all computers and phones, and her house has been dusted for DNA. Marian has been taken to Antrim barracks and is being held there. A German journalist visiting her home was also detained but has been released.


The Irish Freedom Committee condemns this blatant harassment and attempt at intimidation of a leading figure in the Republican movement. This thuggish action can only be seen as a revenge raid for the increasingly strengthened voice against foreign military occupation in Ireland.
