The Irish Freedom Committee would like to state categorically that we are an American-based, not-for-profit, humanitarian organization with no foreign principles.

Our organization's objectives, which were not clearly presented in the piece ("Fighting Irish", September 23), are to 1.  Monitor the media for inaccuracies in its coverage of the ongoing military occupation in the Six Counties; 2. Educate the American public on the causes for this ongoing war; 3. Promote the right of the Irish people to self-determination; and 4. Raise funds for the dependants of persons incarcerated for resisting British occupation, who are now being denied political status.

We object strongly to any other sensationalist interpretation of our activities.
